Laughter sessions involve laughter exercises and deep breathing. They are performed in a group under the direction of a leader who will start the exercises and show the group what to do. No special clothing or equipment is required. Comfortable clothes that allow free movement are best.
Sessions typically start with gentle warm-up exercises including stretching, clapping and of course, laughing. Deep breathing exercises help to prepare the lungs for laughter.
The laughter exercises include visualization techniques, talking gibberish and playfulness. All this may sound a little daunting, but within the group setting it is great fun and the aim is to interact with others in the group in a fun, playful way.
The laughter exercises help to produce laughter which soon becomes real unconditional laughter. You will suddenly realise you are laughing heartly for no reason at all. BRILLIANT!
The laughter relaxation is a guided relaxation which helps end the session together as a group.
